The topic is Lessons from the Thrilla in Manila
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
We are exceptionally pleased to announce that Vint Cerf and Sir John Daniel will appear "side-by-side"
at the Opening.
Vint lays legitimate claim to being the "Father of the Internet" and
is now employed by Google, the 800 pound gorilla of our time.
Sir John earned his knighthood by "changing the landscape of higher
education in the United Kingdom." He is now president of the
Commonwealth of Learning where he a host of innovative learning
initiatives in 52 countries.
We would like you to add comments to Vint's and Sir John's blog.
The moderators will be Blaine Berger and
Tom Dretler.
Blaine is a very savvy business executive who will ask why web
technology has bad made such enormous leaps -- but why is there so
little change in how is son is getting his college education?
Tom is the President of Eduventures and "has taken a leadership role
in supporting business involvement in public sector issues". His
questions will center on finding the proper role between the
not-for-profits, the edu's and the corporates.
John Hibbs will open the event with comments that link the "Thrilla in Manila" and how a poor black promoter
changed the landscape of sports in ways that have profound
application in today's world of education.

The Opening Ceremony ends at O1:00 UTC UTC. The event then moves on to
the Southern Pacific Region. This will be at 6 p.m., Saturday,
October 8 on the West Coast of North America.
